So here I am, I look pretty happy, don’t I? At my mums 50th. But all I wanted to do was hide. I have been overweight all my life.

As a young child, i was constantly bullied because of my weight so would comfort eat which meant I got bigger so I became a bigger target for bullying.

I was unwell when I started secondary school so I had to watch what I ate but the weight crept back on after I came out of the hospital.

The final straw was being with my boyfriend knowing that I have Polycystic ovary syndrome that I may not be able to have children (which is what I have always wanted). Or possibly having children but them going through what I have been through.

So as of 2016 in February after years of yo-yo diets, I joined slimming world and so far throughout various health problems (including being on various pills that cause weight gain) I have lost 4 stone.

I am on a new plan along with slimming world called clean eating, no processed junk just pure whole food and whole grains, definitely nothing that I cannot pronounce! I have lots of new recipes coming!

I hope you guys follow my progress and get some form of meal ideas from my recipes!

Love, the brand new Emily x

  1. Well done on your weight loss! I will be trying some of the recipes for sure and was wondering if you can turn your creativity towards some veggie recipes?

  2. Hi Emily

Wow, you are one amazing lady. I’ve been doing Slimming World for close to five years now, but it has to be said that I’ve really only been serious since December 28 last year.

Since then, I’ve lost a stone, started the gym, and been dragged along to a local karate class. Yes, I’m 50, had cerebral palsy since birth, but am now determined to shed the five stone + that will get me to target.

Your journey has filled me with new hope and makes me realise I can do this!

Good luck with all you hard work and journey.

    Paul x

  3. I just found your site. You have done so well so far…much better than me. Don’t give up hope on the children front – I have PCOS and I have 2 kids. It took me three years of trying the first time, two the second and two miscarriages as well, but I got there in the end. I wish you all the very best in your journey. Take care. x

    1. Thank you for your support! Try not to compare your journey to others as everyone is different, I look at women who lose the weight I need to lose that do it in under a year but I need to remember my body is different to theirs xx well done on your journey so far no matter how little progress you’ve made it’s still progress xxx

  4. You have beautiful eyes! I am excited to use some of your recipes that will hopefully help me. I am 62 years old and want to lose 100 pounds (US). I know it will take a long time, but I have failed so many years. This is my time! Thanks for the inspiration. ❤

  5. Hi Emily, are you in the US? I am American but live in the UK. I prefer American recipes but on Slimming World in the UK, you don’t get those. Are you still on SW? Other than your fantastic site, can you recommend any others? Thanks so much!
