After my trip to Portugal, I have been truly inspired, just eating different things from the typical spaghetti or cottage pie that we have at home and I managed to get a great homemade Piri Piri sauce recipe from a local restaurant while I was out there.
6 tablespoons white wine vinegar
4 cloves garlic
1-3 birds eye chillies with or without seeds – 1 without seeds = mild
1 tsp salt
1 tablespoon of olive oil (6 syns)
- Blend all of the ingredients and seal in a jar in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
- Use 1 tbsp of sauce to 500g of meat and marinade with your meat for at least 2 hours before grilling/baking.
