Plaice with lemon & butter shrimp sauce

You would be surprised what you can buy from the supermarket now! If you can’t get to a fishmonger make sure you get the freshest Plaice fillets you can check out your fishcounter and Plaice is seasonal and about now!

Serves 4 – 1 syn portion

4 large Plaice fillets

zest and juice of one lemon

2 tsp butter (4 syns)

70g peeled brown shrimp

1 tbsp finely chopped parsley

Black pepper

  1. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and place the fish skin down and leave for 3-4 minutes.
  2. Flip the fish over and put the butter, shrimp and lemon zest into the pan.
  3. Flip the fish back over add the lemon juice (it will splutter in the pan) and add a pinch of black pepper and spoon the butter, lemon shrimp over the fish.
  4. Sprinkle with the parsley and serve.

This is delicious with mash or boiled new jersey royal potatoes and chargrilled asparagus. All of which are currently seasonal!
