You would be surprised what you can buy from the supermarket now! If you can’t get to a fishmonger make sure you get the freshest Plaice fillets you can check out your fishcounter and Plaice is seasonal and about now!
Serves 4 – 1 syn portion
4 large Plaice fillets
zest and juice of one lemon
2 tsp butter (4 syns)
70g peeled brown shrimp
1 tbsp finely chopped parsley
- Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and place the fish skin down and leave for 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the fish over and put the butter, shrimp and lemon zest into the pan.
- Flip the fish back over add the lemon juice (it will splutter in the pan) and add a pinch of black pepper and spoon the butter, lemon shrimp over the fish.
- Sprinkle with the parsley and serve.
This is delicious with mash or boiled new jersey royal potatoes and chargrilled asparagus. All of which are currently seasonal!
