Arrabiata sauce

This is a totally simple but easy pasta sauce. There is only 2 syns for the whole batch so you will have to divide that by how many portions you get out of it. (I get around 8 with this batch so I don’t really bother synning this dish!)

1 tsp olive oil

2 tbsp each freshly chopped basil and parsley

2 thinly sliced garlic

1/2 tsp chilli flakes

2 cans chopped tomatoes (or plum but squish them with your hands to break them up, do not blend them as the tomato pips will make the sauce bitter)

2 tbsp tomato puree

generous pinch salt and pepper

  1. Heat a saucepan with the olive oil, garlic and chilli flakes.
  2. When you can smell the garlic add in the tinned tomatoes, tomato puree, the herbs and the salt and pepper.
  3. Stir and let simmer for 5 minutes.

That is it. This spicy pasta sauce is great as it is, with fish or chicken.
