Pilau rice 

Sometimes we like something a little more flavourful than a plain rice. This is still a syn free beautifully fragranced fluffy rice.

Serves 4

1 mug rice (2 mugs boiling water)

1/2 tsp turmeric, Garam masala

2 crushed cardamom pods

1 small cinnamon stick

1 large star anise

1. Add the rice, water, turmeric, Garam masala and stir and heat over high.

2. Add the rest of the ingredients and add the lid and turn off the heat.

3. Leave for 10 minutes, remove the cinnamon, cardamom and star anise, fluff with a fork.

4. Re-cover with the lid and leave for a further 5 minutes.
