So a good old family favourite that everyone thinks they can’t have on slimming world. Well you can but it is still going to cost you a couple of syns! This is just for the sauce recipe, if you are adding meat or a meat substitute you want to add about 500-600g for the amount this sauce makes!
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tsp each grated ginger and garlic
1 tsp cornflour (0.5 syn please double check your syns and brands)
1tsp tomato puree
3 tbsp ketchup (3 syns double check your brand though)
fresh cut pineapple (about a good handful in bitesize chunks)
1 small red and green pepper (bitesize chunks)
1 small white onion (bitesize chunks)
- Get a small pot hot and spray with cooking spray, when nice and hot add your red and green pepper and onion and stir fry until they just start to soften.
- Add your garlic and ginger and stir fry for 30 seconds or until it becomes fragrant.
- Add the rest of your ingredients and stir thoroughly until all combined.
- Cook until it starts to thicken.
That is how simple it is to make your own sweet and sour sauce! I hope you at least give this a go!
