BBQ Sauce

This sauce will keep in the fridge for a couple of weeks in a jar or clean squirty bottle. Tangy, sweet, yet savoury.

1 white onion, finely diced,

1 large clove garlic, grated,

500g passata,

1 tbsp sweet smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce,

1 heaped tsp mustard powder, salt and black pepper,

sweetener to taste.

  1. In a sauce pan stir fry the onion over a low heat with the salt and pepper until soft and translucent.
  2. Add the garlic and stir fry until fragrant.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer for 15 minutes or until reduced by half.
  4. Add sweetener to taste and more salt and pepper if needed.

This is delicious as a dipping sauce for meats or even when cooled used to cook the meat in. This would also be good to cook a lean piece of pork in for BBQ pulled pork.
