Sounds odd doesn’t it? But this is how we cook our (parboiled) sprouts at Christmas and as its national bacon day i thought i would share with you this recipe.
1 pack smoked bacon (all visible fat removed and diced into small pieces)
1 small pack dark greens (Cavelo Nero, savoy cabbage etc: finely sliced)
- Fry off the bacon until it starts to crisp.
- Add in the cabbage and stir fry constantly stirring.
- Add a splash of water to help steam.
- Cook until the cabbage is tender.
Salty,savoury, slightly sweet from the natural sugars in the cabbage. I hope you give this a try!
